Dad, Wrigley, and I left home early Wednesday morning to begin our long, boring drive to Amarillo TX. There isn't much scenic about the drive, it's all just very flat and the wind was terrible. In fact several times throughout our drive we heard of fire warnings on the radio b/c it's so dry & windy down here. We stopped maybe a total of 5 times which wasn't bad and each time the 'fresh country air' smell became a big stronger-yuck!!! The weather was beautiful and we were hot in jeans and t-shirts. The rest-stop entering into OK. was so nice, it had a very rustic feel and lots of interesting information. I got a couple of trinkets there, my favorite being a mood ring that says "OK". We arrived in Amarillo about 9pm Wed. evening, so we made pretty good time. The hotel room is nice & spacious as usual, we are once again staying @ Extended Stay Suites where we stayed for my previous surgeries in North Carolina & Ohio. The suites are nice b/c you have a huge bathroom with a nice roll-in shower w/sprayer, shower seat, microwave, fridge, and stove-top- which makes it nice when you get tired of continuously eating out. We also have two desks which are perfect for setting the laptop on and doing my crafts/beading, a recliner, and laundry room. In addition, we are very close to all the stores, mall, movie theatre, surgeons office, doggie daycare, & BSA Hospital. The hotel gave us the hospital rate since we'll be here 3-4 wks. so it was very affordable and they even gave us a discount for Wrigley to stay.
